These two days at Birchgrove Park, Lillico, SE Victoria are going to give you months of things to work on. We’ll have two small groups of 6 riders each, morning and afternoon at Birchgrove Park. You can purchase your spot in full, or pay 50% down now, with the remainder to be automatically charged to the same card in 60 days. The regular price to ride is $300 AUD/day, but we are having and early bird special of just $250 AUD/day until July 8th.
As a rider, you also get the opportunity to audit the other group. Both groups are going to get very detailed and extensive notes for the whole clinic. These notes typically range from 25-40 pages.
We will work on perenial rider skills that all riders, regardless of discipline or experience can improve upon. I focus on things like timing of cues and aids, feeling and controling the feet, philosophy and brain stuff of horse learning, your timing, the ever popular downregulation of nervous systems and the cue to relax, your timing, and reading the horse’s body language at a level very few understand. While I do have a deep knowledge of these things, we’ll keep it all in layman’s terms and light and easy to understand with practical examples and lots of fun and laughter. If you aren’t having fun, you aren’t learning at peak levels. Boring clinics are bad clinics. Let’s have some fun, shall we?
I’ll always ask the riders if there are any specific problems or goals they have that we can incorporate. I am very flexible and every group is going to be different. This isn’t Tab A into Slot B, formulaic horsemanship. We get deep. We master the basics and we talk about why we do the things we do. I”ve worked with a lot of people who have been shown a bunch of stuff to do, but have no idea when or why to use those things. I won’t be guilty of wasting your time, or mine.
We’re going to keep it fun and relaxed. Biomechanics will be taught. Jokes will be thrown out. Did you know that due to pregnancy, the average number of skeletons in a human body is greater than 1? I don’t talk down to people. I don’t expect that there will be crying. I’m not into the woo woo stuff. My take is logical and common sense oriented. You’ll leave with more confidence and understanding than you came.
